Mark and Ruth Anna Dana, First Nations, New Brunswick

Jeanelle and Murrell Francis, West Nairobi School, Kenya

Jeanelle and Murrell Francis, West Nairobi School, Kenya

Mark & Ruth Anna Dana

The Danas have been in ministry for 41 years bringing the love of Jesus Christ into the lives of native people through camps, visiting in prison, and through their radio broadcasts. After having served at Camp Kwayakotage in Quebec for many years, they now play an advisory role for the ministry which is now led by their daughter and son-in-law.  Mark and Ruth-Anna are now based in New Brunswick.

Mark serves part-time as a prison chaplain and reaches out to the nearby Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) community. Among other ministries, the Danas have recently helped to organize First Nations marriage enrichment and family help workshops.

Jeanelle Francis

Murrell grew up in Greenfield Park and attended our church with his family.  He and Jeanelle have served as teachers in Christian schools in South Korea, Japan and now in Nairobi, Kenya as part of International Christian Schools, U.S.  Jeannelle teaches upper level English and co-ordinates the worship and praise teams for their chapels.

Both are involved in their local church.  Our church is blessed with the messages Murrell has brought to us by zoom during the time of our search for a new pastor.  Jeanelle leads a weekly women's Bible study.

They have twin children: a boy, Isaiah and a girl, Jayelyn.

Through this building they run a community drop-in centre for youths and families.

Linda is a skilled counsellor with a compassionate heart for teen girls and young women in distress.

Nhep Pech (FEB International in Cambodia)

Tim Whitehead, Galcom International

Teddy and Linda Hoare, MissionGo, Chateauguay

Nhep Pech

Nhep has a deep passion for Christ and love for the people of her beloved Cambodian homeland. As a survivor of Cambodia's “killing fields” under the regime of Pol Pot in the 1970s, she uses her skills as a dentist to train students and to provide dental care to those living in rural Cambodia on behalf of the FAIR (Fellowship Aid and International Relief) mobile dental clinic. Although her ministry focus is medical in nature, she continually use every opportunity to share the love of Christ with her patients and the students that assist her during the clinics. Many have prayed to accept Christ and several churches have been established because of her ministry.

Nhep's husband, Oeut, who faithfully and diligently worked alongside Nhep in her dental ministry in Cambodia, passed away in early 2022.

Galcom International

What does "Galcom" mean?

Gal - In Hebrew, it means "commit".

Com - A short form for "communication".

The name “Galcom International” is an indication of our commitment to communicating the Gospel worldwide.

Galcom provides solar-powered radios and audio players. Even for missions that are not engaged in radio broadcasting, distributing solar-powered, fix-tuned radios accelerates the evangelistic and church planting efforts of missionaries.  Galcom is actively involved in providing radio studio and broadcasting equipment at the best possible prices to Christian radio stations around the world. Galcom technicians travel to many countries every year, assisting with licensing, transmitters, studio equipment, installations and broadcasting.

Shu Yin Wong - Staff Director Intervarsity

Tim Whitehead, Galcom International

Shu Yin Wong

Staff since: April 2005

Shu Yin loves staff and students because God loves them first. She equips staff and students to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ on campus and throughout the world.

She loves seeing staff and students encounter God’s love and truth. Her educational background includes studying human resources and religion

.

One of her favourite things to do is watch documentaries. An impactful Bible verse for her is Romans 3:22-24 (NIV): This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Compassion Canada

Compassion Canada

Over 2 million children in 25 impoverished countries are being given Jesus' hope for a better future through individual sponsorship.  Children take part in a program in their community which is linked with the local church.  The benefit is evident.  Those children in the program are more likely to finish high-school, get a good job and be active in their church.  Sponsors are invited to correspond with their child.  Sometimes a visit can be arranged.
